Exercises to Lose Weight
Just a quick note before introducing some exercises to lose weight: Weight loss should actually be called “fat loss”, for you want to lose body fat rather than weight itself. In most cases, when trying to drop some weight, people starting workouts will also build up some muscles, which on the other hand add pounds to you body weight again. Although you are reducing body fat, it is still possible not to lose weight at all (or maybe you even put
on some little extra weight).
This is an important fact you need to understand first: do not trust your scale! Do not become desperate because you fail to drop weight although you workout hard. Especially in the beginning you will tend to build up a few muscles if you never worked out before, so watching your scale every day can be very frustrating. So what should you do instead? Make photos! Make photos from your body on the very first day and take pictures (to control and see your success)
every three to six weeks.
Exercises you should do
So what exercises are promising to drop weight as soon as possible? There is one simple answer: it is the exercise that you like most! What does that mean? Find some sports you really like. You don’t need to go running if you hate it! There are zillions of sports and workouts that will do the trick as well (and as good as running does). If you like tennis, play tennis three times a week and you won’t believe your eyes how fast your body fat will vanish.
But what exercises are effective?
There is one simple rule: the longer and the more intensive your workout, the more fat will be burnt. Tennis - as mentioned above - is a sport, that is very intensive, but can be played for one or two hours. Lifting weights does not seem to be very effective, but it is one of the best things you can do to drop weight. You will not only burn calories during and hours after the workout (which should be very intensive), you will also build up additional muscles which need more calories (and therefore will burn more fat even while you’re sleeping)!
